Regulations for Customs clearance
- All parcels of a consignment destined to Canada must be provided with a label.
- Showing the name and address of the consignee.
- Language on documents : English or French
- In AWB, the address must also show the name of the province.
- Three legible copies of the AWB format or Customs Cargo Control Document [A8A] must be provided for Customs use.
- Canada Customs randomly select shipments for examination to verify compliance or to take samples in reasonable amounts. The frequency of examinations will depend on compliance record and that of other persons or organizations involved with the shipment as well as the type of goods imported.
