To secure a safe lithium battery transportation environment, transportation of SP A88 lithium batteries
without UN 38.3 test has been restricted by Koreanair unless SP A88 lithium batteries that meet the following conditions.

▣ Conditions

   ○ Applicable company : Korea-based lithium battery manufacturer and related company

   ○ SP A88 approved by  the appropriate authority of the State of origin and the State of the operator  

   ○ Packing Instruction 910 of the ICAO Supplement to the Technical Instructions are met.

   ○ Overpacked with fire containment cover that meet FAA standards*
      * FAR 25 25.855(c), Appendix F Part III - Flame Penetration Resistance (link)
        ☞  Flame Penetration Resistance of Cargo Compartment Liners(FAA), There must be no flame penetration of any specimen
              within 5 minutes after application of the flame source 1700 °F. ±100 °F. (927 °C. ±38 °C.) 

▣ Approval procedures

   ○ Send the following documents to the Korean Air Freight Reservation Department at least 7 days before the date of departure,
      and proceed with the reservation after approval.
      (In Korea : cargo.reservation@koreanair.com, Overseas : Local Sales office)
      - SP A88 approval letter from the appropriate authority of the State of origin and the State of the operator
      - Photo of package (before, after, overpack)  
      - Test report for externally packaged fire containment cover
