[Notice] ACAS Product Name Error Management Enhancement Guide


We are informing customers of the future action plan for ACAS Data product name error from the US CBP,

so please check the product name creation guideline thoroughly and send the correct product name.

 

1. CBP emphasis : Do not submit vague product names in AWB Data item list.
 

2. CBP Action Plan

ㅇ ~'24.10.5: ACAS Warning Period as guiding period

ㅇ '24.10.6~' : In the event of a product name error, ACAS report will be rejected by US CBP
 

3. Emphasis

ㅇ Regarding the product name in AWB data, please refer to the CBP Guideline below to reflect the exact product name

- In case of CBP reject about ACAS report after Warning Period, the exact item name needs to be transmitted as cargo hold action is scheduled.

    1) Standard of cargo description

        - A precise cargo description is a description of an item that is clear and concise. 

          The description should be in plain language and detailed enough to allow 

          U.S. Customs and Border Protection to identify the size, shape and characteristics

          of the commodity.

 

    2) Below cargo descriptions should not be included in commodity name:

        - Superfluous information

        - Personally identifiable information

        - Type of packaging

        - Carrier disclaimers 

        - Total number of packages

        - Manufacturer's name

        - General or common name of the commodity (it must specifically described)

 

    3) Examples of Unacceptable vs Acceptance cargo description (Refer to Attachment)
